Who We Are
House of Amani (HOA) is a South African registered Non-Profit Organisation, founded in 2021, to empower women and girls who have experienced gender-based violence (GBV), by equipping them with sustainable solutions to better their livelihoods. H.O.A further raises awareness of GBV by hosting educational sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns against GBV.

Here at H.O.A, we believe in creating a virtuous cycle of women and girls who give hope and strength to other women and girls. We believe that being there for each other is all there is to life and changing the world starts with supporting one woman at a time. The core of our efforts is to provide hope and bring peace "Amani" to women and girls who have survived all forms of abuse. Through our endeavours, we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.

“Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do”
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
"Together we can change the world, just one random act of kindness at a time."
"Every moment is an organizing opportunity, every person a potential activist, every minute a chance to change the world."

A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER/S
“Being there for each other is all there is to life.”

To have touched the lives of 1000 women by 2026

On behalf of our amazing team, we would like to welcome you to House of Amani (HOA) and we thank you in advance for believing in us. We are always at your service, working with passion, dedication, and kindness to make a difference in the lives of abused women and girls in need of change, hope, and peace.

House of Amani is a house that was founded in early 2021 to bring peace and emancipation to abused women and children. It is a Non-Profit Organisation that offers free sustainable livelihood solutions, free legal advice, and free counseling to women and girls who have survived Gender-based violence to avoid future recurrence of similar events.

The birth of House of Amani came at a time when femicide was rife in South Africa. Hearing stories of women who died and continue to die in the hands of abusive partners due to lack of financial independence drove us to create a house that equips women with sustainable life skills, a house that invests in their psychological well-being and offers free legal services.

Every woman deserves to be protected from harm, every woman deserves to be emancipated from poverty, therefore every woman needs to be placed in a position where she chooses to be in a relationship out of love and not because of financial constraints.

God saw the need and He planted the seed of hope in us to be the change the world needs.
Lots of love and kindness
